Privacy policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Halden collects when you visit haldencam.com or buy from us, what we use it for, and who we share it with.

Halden is the controller of your personal data. We handle it under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

3. Your dash cam footage

Your camera records to the SD card in your car. Footage stays on the card and on your phone. It does not come to us.

If you send us footage to help with a support question, we use it only for that question and delete it once the matter is closed.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the companies that help us run the shop, and only what each one needs:

  • Whop: our checkout and payment processing.
  • Klaviyo: our email provider, for order emails and, if you agree, offers and news.
  • Google and Meta: analytics and advert measurement, so we know which adverts and pages work.
  • 17TRACK: tracking lookups, so you can follow your parcel.
  • Our hosting provider: the servers that run our website and store our order records.
  • Delivery couriers: your name, address and contact details, so they can deliver your parcel.

We do not sell your personal data. We may also share data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or prevent fraud.

5. Data sent outside the UK

Some of these companies store data outside the UK, for example in the United States or the European Union. Where they do, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK GDPR, such as UK adequacy decisions or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tools to keep your basket working, remember your choices, measure how the site is used and measure our adverts.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block all cookies, the basket and checkout may not work properly.

7. How long we keep it

  • Order and payment records: 6 years, to meet accounting rules.
  • Support messages: up to 3 years after the last message, unless they relate to an open guarantee claim.
  • Marketing data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
  • Browsing and advert data: in line with the retention settings of Google and Meta, usually no more than 26 months.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your data, where we no longer need to keep it.
  • Object to or ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Ask for your data in a format you can take elsewhere.
  • Withdraw your consent to marketing at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to us.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

9. Security

Our site uses an encrypted connection. Payments are handled on our payment processor’s secure form. Access to order data is limited to the people who need it to serve you.

10. Children

Our shop is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a big change, we will tell you by email or on the site.
