About Halden
It started with a 50/50.
The other driver pulled out of a side road and told his insurer we had gone into him. It was our word against his. The insurer split it down the middle, and our premium went up anyway, for a crash that was not our fault.
The story
The first one swelled. The second froze. The third could not read a plate.
So we bought a dash cam. The first one had a little lithium battery inside, and by August it had swollen so badly it pushed the screen out of the case.
The second was a big name. It froze on a Tuesday morning and showed the same still picture for a week. Nobody noticed until we needed a clip, and there was nothing on the card.
The third recorded fine in daylight. Then a van clipped our mirror on a wet night and drove off. We had the van on the clip. We could not read a single letter of the plate.
